1. About CarDossier and These Terms

CarDossier is a vehicle history check service operated by Joyall Inc. ("we", "us", "our"). Our website is located at cardossier.co.uk.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, products, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing our website, placing an order, or downloading a vehicle history report, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms in full.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use our Service. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Eligibility and Account Use

You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase a report or use our Service. By placing an order, you warrant that you are 18 or over and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.

Our Service is intended for personal, non-commercial use only unless you have entered into a separate written agreement with us for commercial or business use. You may not resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit any report or data obtained through our Service without our express written consent.

You are responsible for ensuring that any information you provide to us — including your email address and vehicle registration number — is accurate and complete. We accept no liability for failed or delayed delivery of reports resulting from incorrect information provided by you.

3. Our Services and What We Provide

CarDossier provides vehicle history reports compiled from a wide range of data sources, including UK government databases, law enforcement records, insurance industry registers, and commercial data partners. Our reports are designed to help prospective vehicle buyers make more informed purchasing decisions.

Each report may include, but is not limited to, information on:

The specific content of each report depends on the data available for the vehicle in question. We do not guarantee that all sections of a report will contain data, and the absence of a record does not necessarily mean the vehicle has a clean history.

4. Nature of Vehicle History Reports

Important: A CarDossier vehicle history report is an informational tool only. It does not constitute a warranty, guarantee, or certification of any vehicle's condition, title, or roadworthiness.

Our reports are compiled from third-party data sources that we do not control. While we take all reasonable steps to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the data we present, we cannot guarantee that our data sources are complete, up to date, or free from error at all times.

In particular, you acknowledge and accept that:

We strongly recommend that you also conduct a physical inspection of any vehicle and, where appropriate, obtain an independent mechanical assessment before completing any purchase.

5. The £30,000 Data Accuracy Guarantee

Our £30,000 Data Accuracy Guarantee is subject to the strict eligibility conditions set out in this section. Please read these conditions carefully before relying on the Guarantee.

5.1 What the Guarantee Covers

Subject to the conditions in this section, CarDossier offers a Data Accuracy Guarantee of up to £30,000 ("the Guarantee") to eligible customers who suffer a direct financial loss as a result of a material inaccuracy in a CarDossier vehicle history report.

For the purposes of this Guarantee, a "material inaccuracy" means a specific factual error in the report that:

5.2 Eligibility Conditions

The Guarantee applies only where all of the following conditions are met:

  1. The report was purchased directly from CarDossier at the full published price. Reports obtained through promotions, discount codes, third-party platforms, or any other means are not eligible.
  2. The claimant is the individual who purchased the report and is the same individual who subsequently purchased the vehicle described in the report.
  3. The vehicle was purchased for personal, private use only. The Guarantee does not apply to vehicles purchased for commercial use, business purposes, resale, or by motor traders, dealers, or fleet operators.
  4. The claim is submitted to us in writing within 30 days of the date of vehicle purchase. Claims submitted after this period will not be considered under any circumstances.
  5. The claimant provides, at their own expense, documentary evidence satisfactory to us, including but not limited to: the original CarDossier report, proof of vehicle purchase (e.g. receipt, invoice, or signed contract), proof of the inaccuracy in the report (e.g. official documentation from the relevant authority), and evidence of the financial loss suffered.
  6. The claimant has not taken any action that has reduced or eliminated the value of any claim against the vehicle seller, including but not limited to: modifying the vehicle, failing to preserve evidence, or settling with the seller without our prior written consent.
  7. The loss has not been caused or contributed to by the claimant's own negligence, failure to carry out reasonable due diligence, or reliance on the report as the sole basis for the purchase decision.
  8. The claimant has first taken all reasonable steps to seek redress from the vehicle seller and provides evidence of having done so.
  9. The vehicle has not been involved in any subsequent accident, modification, or other event that may have affected its value after the date of purchase.
  10. The claim does not relate to a vehicle's condition, mechanical state, roadworthiness, or any matter not expressly covered by the CarDossier report.

5.3 What the Guarantee Does Not Cover

The Guarantee expressly does not cover, and no claim will be accepted in respect of:

5.4 Maximum Liability Under the Guarantee

Our total liability under the Guarantee in respect of any single claim shall not exceed the lesser of:

The Guarantee represents our entire liability in respect of data accuracy. It does not supplement, extend, or replace any statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law.

5.5 Claims Process

To submit a claim under the Guarantee, you must contact us in writing at [email protected] within 30 days of vehicle purchase. We will acknowledge your claim within 10 business days and may request additional documentation. We reserve the right to investigate all claims thoroughly and to reject claims that do not meet the eligibility conditions set out in this section. Our decision on any claim is final, subject to your statutory rights.

5.6 No Admission of Liability

Any payment made under the Guarantee does not constitute an admission of liability on our part and does not affect our rights to seek recovery from any third party responsible for the inaccuracy.

6. Payments, Pricing and Delivery

All prices are displayed in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable. Prices are subject to change without notice, but any change will not affect orders already placed and confirmed.

Payment is processed securely via our payment providers (Stripe and PayPal). We do not store your full card details on our servers. By completing a purchase, you authorise us to charge the stated amount to your selected payment method.

Reports are delivered electronically to the email address provided at the time of purchase. We aim to deliver reports within minutes of payment confirmation. We accept no liability for delays caused by incorrect email addresses, spam filters, or other factors outside our control.

If you do not receive your report within 30 minutes of purchase, please contact us at [email protected] before seeking a chargeback or dispute, as we will be able to resend your report promptly.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on the CarDossier website and within our reports, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, data compilations, and software, is the property of Joyall Inc. or its data licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Service and to download and retain a copy of any report you purchase for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, or commercially exploit any part of our Service or reports without our express written consent.

8. Limitation of Liability

Please read this section carefully. It limits our liability to you in important ways.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Joyall Inc.'s total aggregate liability to you in connection with the Service, whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, shall not exceed the greater of:

In no event shall Joyall Inc. be liable for any:

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

The limitations in this section apply whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such losses and reflect a fair allocation of risk between you and us.

9. Disclaimers and Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

We make no representation or warranty that the data contained in any report reflects the true and complete history of any vehicle. Vehicle history data is inherently incomplete and retrospective. Our reports reflect only what has been reported to and recorded by our data sources.

10. Prohibited Uses

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time and without notice if we believe you have breached these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or used the Service in a manner that is harmful to us, our data providers, or other users.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Any provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to intellectual property provisions, disclaimers, and limitations of liability.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

You agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or their subject matter or formation.

Before commencing any legal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at [email protected] to attempt to resolve any dispute informally. We will endeavour to respond to all complaints within 5 business days.

If you are a consumer resident in the UK, you may also be entitled to refer a dispute to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) scheme. Further information is available from the Citizens Advice Bureau and the UK Government's online dispute resolution platform.

13. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. It is your responsibility to check this page periodically for changes.

Your continued use of the Service after any changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.
